Priyanka Chopra Jonas recently attended the India Week session at Harvard Business School in Boston, where she addressed a hall full of students. The event became emotional for her as she saw many young Indians in traditional attire, filling her with pride and hope for the future of the community.

Reflecting on her own journey, Chopra Jonas talked about her teenage years in the United States and recalled how different her experience was. The former Miss World later shared a note on Instagram. The post’s caption reads, “When my 12-year-old self arrived at a high school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and then Newton North High School in Massachusetts in the mid-’90s, there weren’t many people who looked like me.”

He described his surprise and excitement at the diversity present in the program. She said, “I never would have thought in almost 30 years that I would be speaking to you, to the future of our culture, to our world, on this stage, in this hallowed chamber where so many incredible people have not only spoken, but where so many of the leaders of the world as we know were born. The audience was packed and we were Desi and Desi allies.”

The actor admitted that this experience affected him deeply. She wrote, “This made me want to cry, because this was not my teenage experience. But I’m so happy you got this. We all stand on the shoulders of the generations before us. I’m so excited my daughter will look up to all of you.”

Chopra Jonas highlighted the progress made by the Indian community abroad, noting the unity and cultural pride on display. Addressing the audience he said, “But looking at the audience today, only one thought came to my mind – you are the India I had imagined. Let me explain.”

The 43-year-old expressed how it was a moment of personal pride to see so many people from her community at Harvard. She said, “Seeing an auditorium full of students wearing sarees and kurtas on the campus of HBS in Boston, where I grew up and seeing so many people from my community at one of the best schools in the world, filled my heart with pride. You are the future.”

Chopra Jonas also thanked the students for their warmth and acknowledged the support she has received from her family, calling her husband, Nick Jonas, and their daughter, Marty Marie, her “forever valentines.”

The actor, who was promoting SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi with Mahesh Babu, was also joined by his close friend and business partner at Harvard, Anjula Acharya. He too Met with Indian politician Shashi Tharoor On the incident. Tharoor was also one of the speakers at the prestigious university.
