Priyanka Chopra is a true desi girl who can’t stay away from India and Indian cinema for long. So, after a gap of seven years, the actress is making a comeback in the Indian film industry with the SS Rajamouli directorial, Varanasi. During her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actress gave a major update on the film. Read on to know how much shooting is left for the film.
Priyanka Chopra gave update on Varanasi
Priyanka Chopra’s ardent fans are extremely excited for her comeback to Indian cinema with Varanasi. The pan-Indian film is being shot on a large scale with veterans like Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran. While a major portion of the action has already been shot, a significant portion of the film is yet to be shot.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon on his chat show, the actress expressed her excitement about being a part of Varanasi, which became the talk of the town after her poster went viral. Talking about her comeback to Indian cinema, the actress revealed that she has not done any Indian film in 6-7 years. Regarding SS Rajamouli’s film, he said, “He is one of the most amazingly talented directors in India, and it’s going to be an adventurous film. I’m very excited about it.”
Sharing an update, he revealed, “We’ve been filming for 14 months. We’re still filming for another six months. So, it’s 20 months of filming. Go big or go home.”
Priyanka is efficiently handling her projects in Indian cinema and Hollywood. While she was shooting for her recently released film The Bluff, the actress was often seen landing in Hyderabad to fulfill her work commitments in India. But since the Frank E. Flowers directed film is now on OTT, it looks like PC will be devoting all his time to completing the filming that is left for Varanasi.
As far as Varanasi is concerned, it is an epic action-adventure film, produced by Sri Durga Arts and Showing Business. The film is expected to release on April 7, 2027.
