Fans of the royal family were certainly delighted when they saw Kate Middleton’s public appearance during the commemoration on November 9, while her husband, Prince William, reportedly supported her during the event.
Middleton’s major accomplishment comes after she revealed to the public in September that she had completed her chemotherapy. According to the above publication, according to People magazine, Prince William placed his hand on her back several times, reassuring her, as they entered the Royal Albert Hall in London.
This sweet gesture from the Prince of Wales was rare. When he gave his speech in Cape Town, South Africa, on 7 November, he reportedly said that this year had been “brutal” and difficult for him because his wife and father, King Charles, had both been diagnosed with cancer.
The Prince of Wales also expressed his “proud” of Middleton and his father for the way they handled their work.
Royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith decoded Prince William’s entire gesture as they made the move on Nov. 9, telling People magazine, “He was putting his arm around her and being very protective. It was like that It’s connected to what he said about this being a ‘brutal’ year.”
He said that the Prince of Wales is not known for showing his emotions in this way. He added, “It was pushy and protective in a very understandable way. There was a reason behind this, she was going to a big event where she was to perform. There was an element of assurance in the way he was behaving.”
The royal couple were seen again at the Cenotaph service at the War Memorial in London the following day, alongside King Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Edward, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, Birgitte, and others. According to the outlet, the Duchess of Gloucester.
Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence and Prince Edward, Duke of Kent were also present at the scene. Queen Camilla did not attend both events as she was reportedly recovering from a chest infection.
The Princess of Wales’ appearance amid her battle with cancer was certainly refreshing for the public, but that doesn’t mean she’s resuming her royal duties. According to the publication, when it comes to future events, Middleton is also looking forward to her annual carol concert in December.
