Indian film and television producer Prem Sagar died on Sunday.

Veteran filmmaker, producer and ‘Ramayana’ Prem Sagar passed away on Sunday. He was 84 years old. His funeral will be held at Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai.

According to the report, the veteran, who was also the son of the famous filmmaker Ramanand Sagar, was admitted to the Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

Actor Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Rama in Ramanand Sagar’s ‘Ramayana’ (1987), expressed grief over X. He wrote, “The news of the death of Prabhu Sagar ji, the son of the late Shri Ramanand Sagar ji, who through Ramai brings ideals, principal, and teachings to every person. Shri Ram’s departed soul is given a place on his divine feet and the members of the bereaved family are given with the power to bear this deep grief.

Actor Sunil Lahiri, who played Laxman in the same television series, also mourned the death of Prem Sagar on X and captioned, “Absolutely shocking news. We lost Prem Sagar ji, son of Ramanand Sagar of ‘Ramayana’ Om Shanti (SIC).

Prem Sagar received his training in the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, where he was part of the 1968 batch.

The veteran also contributed to several projects as photographers and cinematographers under his father’s Sagar Arts banner.
