‘Pregnancy was getting in the way’: Lucas Bravo reveals how Emily in Paris season 4 gave him a sense of relief

Lucas Bravo is happy that a major plot point from Emily in Paris season 4 is behind him. For those who don’t know, Lucas plays the ambitious chef Gabriel, whom Emily has been in love with since season 1.

In an interview with People, speaking about the latest season, Bravo said she was relieved to learn that her character’s ex-fiancée, Camille (Camille Razat), is not carrying his baby.

“Pregnancy, I felt like, was the promise of more chaos or more drama and a new obstacle, which is sad because having a baby should never be like that,” Bravo says, elaborating on how the implied nature of pregnancy closed the door to a lot of things.

Speaking about the development in the storyline, Lucas says, “Because Gabriel has loved Emily from the moment he opened that door, I felt the pregnancy was going to get in the way of that. So yeah, there was a sense of relief, but it’s not going to feel like that.”

On the Season 3 finale, in the sun-kissed town of Champagne in northeastern France, Camille cancels her engagement party and gets married suddenly. She makes a stunning turn at the altar and declares that she can’t marry Gabriel because he has clearly loved Emily since they first met.

Alfie, who always felt like Emily’s second choice, leaves her at the wedding. Camille also reveals that she is expecting Gabriel’s baby, even though she keeps it a secret until the wedding.

While visiting her gynecologist’s office in Season 4 Episode 5, Camille learned that she was never pregnant. At a café, she shared the news with a friend while she struggled to digest it. With the baby still in both of their lives, Camille confessed that she was nervous to tell Gabriel about this development.

Emily in Paris Season 4 Part One is available to stream on Netflix. Part 2 premieres on September 12.
