Prakash Raj completes main schedule for SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, posts update from the set
Actor Prakash Raj has completed a crucial shooting schedule of the much-awaited film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli. The film stars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and is set for a grand release in 2027.

Actor Prakash Raj has completed an important shooting schedule VaranasiDirected by SS Rajamouli. The actor confirmed the update by sharing a post on social media, and thanked the director and his co-stars for what he described as an enriching experience.
Prakash Raj wrote, “An amazing schedule of #Varanasi completed, it’s a delight for the hungry actor in me. It was exhilarating working with you all, I can’t wait to resume the next schedule.”

Currently under production, Varanasi stars Mahesh Babu who plays the role of Rudra, Priyanka Chopra Jonas plays the role of Mandakini. Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen as the antagonist Kumbha. The film is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 1300 crore and is scheduled to release in theaters in 2027.
While details of Prakash Raj’s character are unknown, his comments suggest an important role in the story. The film is being developed as a large-scale, globe-trotting action adventure, with several major schedules still pending.
Meanwhile Prakash Raj is also working SoulDirected by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, starring Prabhas and Trupti Dimri.
