Pope Francis was breathing without a mask on Tuesday, suffering from acute respiratory failure in two matches, Vatican said the world’s Catholic leader spent his 19th day in the hospital with pneumonia.
The 88 -year -old Argentina Pontiff, the head of the Catholic Church, since 2013, said “Slept overnight after Monday’s crisis and continues to rest”, The Holi C said.

The Pope experienced “two episodes of acute respiratory failure, caused by an important accumulation of endobronicial mucus and resulting bronchospasm”, Vatican said on Monday evening.
Acute respiratory failure, which can be life-threatening, occurs when the lungs cannot pass enough oxygen in the blood or when carbon dioxide is formed in the body.
‘Very bad signal’
Francis was breathless and was struggling to read his texts in the leading days for his entry to Jamelli Hospital, with a special pope suit on the 10th floor.
On 22 February, he suffered a “prolonged asthma respiratory crisis”, followed by “a separate crisis of bronchospasm” on 28 February – a tight of the muscles that line up the airway in the lungs.

Argentina recalled her traditional Angelus prayer for the third straight Sunday and the Vatican released a written text instead.
