Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU) began with Kathy in 2019. It expanded in 2022 with Vikram and with Leo in 2023. Each film introduced powerful character and deep connections. Dilli, Vikram, Leo, Benz and Rolex now make the origin of this gritty action universe. With sequel and spin-off on the way, enthusiasm is real. But before you cast your vote for the upcoming LCU film, you are the most excited, let’s see them a little more.
Talking about the future of LCU, Lokesh Kanagraj shared with Sudhir Srinivasan, “I will start with Kathy 2. I will also have to do Vikram 2 with Kamal Sir, but I have not finished writing it yet. Finally, it should be Lio 2, but we should plan it to keep it in the Leo Das.”
Kathy 2 can start production in 2025. If the film soon goes to the floor, Karthi will return as Dili. This time, the story can detect their past and their relationship with Adikalam before jail. On the other hand, there is a plan to bring Kamal Haasan back as agent Vikram. Fans are eager to release its release, although it is still not clear when production will begin.
Leo 2 has also been confirmed, but there is uncertainty around it. While Leo performed well at the box office, the future of the sequel depends on the Thalapathi victory. The reason for this is that he is stepping into politics after his alleged final film, Jan Naygan.
Meanwhile, a new addition to LCU is Raghav Lawrence starrer Benz. Although not directed by Lokesh, he is creatively supporting the project. The film has already started production, and fans are curious about how this new character will fit in LCU.
Finally, Rolex is, the highly requested spin-off is centered around the character of Suriya. Although not officially confirmed, rumors keep moving. Fans are desperate for a standalone Rolex film.
