Poco India has officially announced the launch date of its first Poco Pad 5G tablet. The company has revealed that the device will launch on August 23 at 12 noon. Poco is promoting it as the “ultimate” “entertainment” device for users, which we will test in our review.
“The Poco Pad 5G is set to redefine the tablet experience, seamlessly blending work and play. Users can expect a perfect device for “binging, creating, and getting things done,” the company said.
Ahead of the launch event, Flipkart has revealed the design and display specs of the upcoming Poco tablet. It features a large 12.1-inch display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 16:10 aspect ratio. The panel also supports 600nits brightness and TUV Rheinland triple certification. It seems to have large black bars on all sides and the tablet also has support for a stylus and a detachable keyboard. It will come in Blue colour. Rest of the details are kept secret for now.
It is worth noting that the Poco Pad is already available in global markets, so we know the possible specifications of this tablet. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There is a set of quad speakers that support Dolby Atmos. The display complements this with Dolby Vision support. The Poco Pad is equipped with a 10,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 16 hours of continuous video streaming. There is also 33W fast charging.
For photography, the Poco Pad includes 8-megapixel cameras on both the front and rear. For connectivity, the device supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and includes a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Talking about the Poco Pad keyboard, it has a 64-key layout designed for a better typing experience. It includes shortcut key combinations and an independent pen holder. The keyboard is made of black PU material, which prevents dirt, fingerprints, and oil stains. The keyboard claims a battery life of 760 hours on standby and 59 hours on continuous use. The upcoming tablet is expected to be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000 in India.
