Prime Minister Narendra Modi remembered Raj Kapoor and Mohammed Rafi in Mann Ki Baat on 29 December. He also highlighted the success of the popular children’s animation series KTB Bharat Hain Hum.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 29 praised the Indian film and entertainment industry for its impressive contribution to the country’s development. PM Modi honored eminent personality Raj Kapoor To introduce the world to India’s soft power through cinema.
He said the nation is celebrating centenaries of many eminent personalities from the film and entertainment industry, whose contribution has upheld the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ throughout their lives.
PM Modi also praised great singer Mohammed Rafi. Her voice was described as ‘magical’ and heart touching. He said that the younger generations continue to cherish Rafi’s music with unwavering passion.
Addressing the 117th episode of Mann Ki Baat, he said, “I would also like to congratulate the film and entertainment industry for strengthening the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. In 2024 we are celebrating the 100th birth anniversary of many personalities from this field. These celebrities have given global recognition to Indian cinema. Raj Kapoor was one of them. Raj Kapoor ji introduced the world India’s soft power through films. Rafi Sahab’s voice had that magic which touched every heart. Be it devotional songs, romantic songs, sad songs, he brought every emotion alive with his voice.

“Today the young generation listens to his songs with equal passion. This is the hallmark of timeless art. Akkineni Nageswara Rao garu has taken Telugu cinema to new heights. His films present Indian traditions and values very well. Tapan “Sinha ji’s films gave a new vision to the society,” he said.
PM Modi announced the launch of an animation series titled KTB-Bharat Hain Hum, which will air every Sunday at 10:30 am on Doordarshan and OTT platforms. The series will highlight the stories of the unsung heroes of India’s freedom struggle.
“You might know about the kids’ favorite animated series KTB-Bharat Hain Hum and now its second season is here. KTB stands for Krish, Trish and Baltiboy. These three animated characters tell us about the heroes and brave Men and women associated with the Indian freedom struggle, which are not much discussed, recently launched its season 2 at the International Film Festival of India in Goa.
He said, “The special thing is that this series is available not only in Indian languages but also in foreign languages. It can be watched on Doordarshan as well as on OTT platform. Do listen to Krish’s ‘Bharat Hain Hum’ radio series. , Trish and Baltiboy every Sunday at 10.30 am on Akashvani network in 12 languages.”
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the film and entertainment industry is not only driving the progress of the country but also taking the economy to new heights.
“The popularity of our Indian TV shows and serials reflects the potential of the Indian creative industry. This industry is not only contributing extensively to the progress of the country but is also taking our economy to new heights. Our film and The entertainment industry is huge, with creative content being made in multiple Indian languages,” the PM said.
In his show he also announced the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) in India.
