Assi marks the third collaboration between Anubhav Sinha and Taapsee, whose previous two films had made a mark with Thappad opening at Rs. Earning of Rs 2.75 crore in 2020. The trailer of the film is currently exclusively in theaters, which is said to be good. Having said that, it has become difficult for films in this field, i.e. small/medium scale dramas to get started. Hopefully this will be no exception.

The teaser of the film was light and pleasant. Backed by a Sanjay Leela Bhansali production, still a romantic film, with an urban touch and without any salable face value, The Beginning is tough. If music works, things can get better.
