The images of Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Mavra Hocain were removed from the album cover of ‘Raees’ and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ amidst the India-Pakistan struggle.

The images of Pakistani actors Mahira Khan and Mavra Hocken were removed from the album cover of their films ‘Raees’ (2017) and ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ (2016). It comes amidst the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan.
After the ban on social media accounts of Pakistani actors in India, music companies have started removing their images from the Indian film album cover.
The ‘Raees’ album, who earlier shown Shah Rukh Khan with Mahira Khan, is now the facility of superstar alone.

Similarly, ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ now only shows only Harshvardhan Rain, in which Hocken’s image has been removed.

Both Mahira and Mavra have also been removed from the album cover of the film from music apps such as Spotify and YouTube Music.
This step comes when tension between India and Pakistan is increasing.
However, the cover images of Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan’s ‘Sundar’ (2014) remain intact.
In an interview with Hindustan TimesHarshvardhan Rain removed the image of Mavra Hocken from the poster. “Now they will say that my PR team got it! No, again general knowledge, I think, weeding is being used.”
The controversy began when Harshvardhan announced that he would not participate in the sequel of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ if Mavra Hocken was involved. The decision condemned India’s Operation Sindoor following the post of Mavra, which he described as a cowardly attack. Mavra criticized Harshvardhan’s exit as “PR Strategy”, “someone has expected a basic common sense, with a PR strategy to grow from a deep slamb. While our nation is in war, is this what comes with you? To draw a PR statement attention? What is a mercy? “Harshvardhan replied on Instagram, called Mavra’s comment a personal attack.
