Rajya Sabha MP and Republican Party of India president Ramdas Bandu Athawale met actor and politician Govinda at his residence. Govinda had shot one of his legs during an accident last week and was taken to the hospital. He was discharged on 4 October.

Govinda, known for his iconic roles in films like Hero No. 1, was admitted to the hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, October 1, after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with his licensed revolver. The incident happened around 4:45 am when Govinda was preparing. A flight to Kolkata.

After being discharged, the 60-year-old actor expressed his heartfelt gratitude To the medical staff, politicians, media and fellow artists who reached out to him during his recovery.

Recalling the incident, Govinda clarified, “Thoda deep lag gaya tha, laga tab vishwas nahi hua, aisa laga yeh kya ho gaya (The wound is quite deep. It was quite shocking.) I went to a hospital in Kolkata around 4 o’clock. Was going to the show. :45-5 am. At that very moment my gun fell and the bullet was fired. I felt a shock and saw that blood was coming out.” He stressed that the accident should not be linked to anything else.
