Peaky Blinders fans have got a big reason to express their joy. One of the most loved con and gangster series is coming to the screens but this time in the form of a movie. Additionally, Cillian Murphy reprises his iconic role as Tommy Shelby, who we all know as the great leader in the series.
Recently Netflix surprised its fans by sharing a shocking post on X (formerly Twitter) about the film. While it had an interesting caption, the post also contained two notable images.
The caption on the post shared by the streamer read, “By order of the Peaky Blinders… Tommy Shelby is back.” The caption also revealed details about the lead actors, Murphy and Steven Knight, returning to the set to work on the production, which has officially begun.
In one of the two photos shared on the internet on September 30, 2024, one can see that the Oppenheimer actor has blonde hair as he stands in front of a dark brick wall.
This could simply mean that the film is being made sometime in the future.
Meanwhile, Collider mentions that Tom Hardy, who plays Alfie Solomons, has shared his interest in returning to the franchise once again.
Although we have received news that production is underway, plot details are still at large. However, Steven Knight did reveal a few things during his interview with Esquire.
“The film, I know exactly what it’s about. And I know which two stories it’s going to tell. How the story will unfold, I don’t know,” Knight said.
Knight then also mentioned that he wanted to keep the door open for future events after the film. Elaborating further on the plot, Knight further said that “in series six” they will introduce a new generation and that generation will be a big part of the film.
“I think it’s finding those actors that you just look at, and think you’ll go there. There is a future there,” he concluded.
According to some reports, apart from the star of The Dark Knight Rises, the film will also star many great actors like Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson and Tim Roth.
