Patralekhaa reveals she fell sick, Anubhav Sinha had fever while shooting for Netflix’s IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack; ‘I even got a tight slap’

Actress Patralekhaa is gearing up for the release of her upcoming Netflix series, IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack. She recently shared her challenging experience on the sets, revealing that she felt ‘claustrophobic’ and even fell sick, while director Anubhav Sinha was also down with fever. “I even got slapped hard during the shoot,” she said.

Patralekhaa is eagerly awaiting the release of IC-814: The Kandahar Hijack. In a recent interview with News18, she shared her intense experience while shooting, stating that the feeling of being trapped inside the plane, where around 100 people along with the crew were present, had a deep impact on her.

He said the situation became even more challenging because the air conditioning had to be turned off due to sound problems, making the atmosphere even more stifling. After completing his scenes, this experience stayed with him, reflecting the demanding nature of the shoot.

The actress revealed that her health took a toll during the shoot and it took her over a week to recover completely. She revealed that both she and director Anubhav Sinha fell sick during the process. “It took me over a week to get over it. I fell sick, (Anubhav) sir had a fever. Still, after a point, your mind stays there. That process was tough. Hopefully I will never get into a hijacked situation, but it felt really scary,” she said.

Patralekha also talked about the action scenes and revealed that she was slapped hard during the shoot. She revealed that she was mentally prepared for it, especially when she heard that Taapsee Pannu was slapped 15 times during the shoot of Thappad. This mindset helped her complete the challenging scene.

IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack depicts the horrific true incident of the hijacking of Indian Airlines Flight 814 in 1999, bringing forth the unseen heroes, untold stories and unforgettable moments of that day. Patralekhaa plays an air hostess named Indrani, while Vijay Verma plays Captain Devi Sharan, the courageous pilot of Flight 814 during the Kandahar hijacking.

The series also stars Dia Mirza, Kumud Mishra and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. The six-episode drama is set to premiere on Netflix on August 29, 2024.
