Patralekhaa is one of those actresses who is known for her ability to play different roles on screen with ease. She made her debut in the 2014 film Citylights starring Rajkummar Rao. But, recently, Patralekhaa shared that she was given a few auditions before her debut, one of which was for the Kartik Aryan starrer Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2. Despite hoping to get the role, he was rejected, yet praised how the film’s director Luv Ranjan called him to his office and respectfully broke the news.
In a candid interview with Mashable India, Patralekhaa revealed that Luv Ranjan was holding extensive auditions for casting for Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2, and Nushrat Bharucha, Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Singh and Omkar Kapoor were among the actors selected for it. Were. Therefore, she needed two more actors, and she was confident of securing one.
Later, the filmmaker called him and asked him to meet him in his office. This made the actress feel that she had got the role and would dress well to meet it. However, things fell apart when he asked to leave the film. Describing the incident, she said, “He made me sit and told me, ‘Yaar, ye jaane de (let it go). At that moment, I felt very bad and I thought.’
Patralekha was upset and felt that calling her to her office and rejecting her personally was ‘not nice’. Later, when she went home, she reflected on the incident, which made her understand how Ranjan showed his respect by sharing the news with her directly.
He fondly remembers him saying, “Son, nahi, lekin hum aage jaake kaam karenge na (Son, the work could not be done this time, but we will work together in the future).” This was an important gesture. who touched her heart
Although she couldn’t land the role in the 2015 film, she recently got the chance to work with the filmmaker on his 2024 film Wild Wild Punjabi, starring Varun Sharma, Jassie Gill, Sunny Singh and others. It is directed by Simarpreet Singh, but Luv Ranjan wrote the story and, true to his word, backed it with T-Series.
