Parvathy Thiruvothu is currently promoting her next Malayalam film, Ullozhukku, which stars veteran actress Urvashi alongside her. In a recent interview with Manorama Online, the actress responded to the audiences that she finds absent in Malayalam cinema.

The Charlie actress responded, “I haven’t gone anywhere. It’s not as simple as moving from one district to another. There have been a lot of changes in the cinema market, and we have to adapt to them.” She also added that if better opportunities come from other industries, she will definitely go for them.

Speaking more about her appearance in Malayalam cinema, Parvathy Thiruvothu spoke about how people said that Bangalore Days was her comeback to Malayalam cinema after City of God. However, the actress said that she never felt that way, even though there was a gap of 4 years between the two films.

Furthermore, the actress also spoke about the complexities of releasing a film in theatres and said that the makers now have to take care of a lot of things. She explained that the OTT space is never a bad thing and how some films, even if they are supposed to release in theatres, sometimes come directly on the OTT platform.

Parvathy is currently awaiting the release of her next film Ullozhukku, directed by Curry and Cyanide: The Jolly Joseph Case director Christo Tomy. The film stars Urvashi in the co-lead role, while Arjun Radhakrishnan, Alencier Le Lopez, Jaya Kurup and several others play key roles.

This drama film is the story of a mother and her daughter-in-law who are mourning the death of their son and are unable to bury him due to heavy floods. In the tense atmosphere, many secrets buried within them begin to come out, leaving us suspicious about what really happened.

Written by Christo Tomy, the film won the Best Screenplay title during Cinestaan ​​India’s Storytellers Contest in 2018, while Aamir Khan’s film Missing Ladies stood first. The film is scheduled to hit the big screens on June 21, 2024.

Parvathy Thiruvothu can be seen in the lead role in the film Thangalan directed by Pa Ranjith. Directed by Chiyaan Vikram, the film also stars Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathi, Daniel Caltagirone and many others.

Set during the time of British India, the film focuses on a tribal leader’s struggle against the British taking over their lands. The release date of the project is yet to be decided.
