Parineeti Chopra slammed Raghav Chadha for raising the issue of piracy in Parliament
Parineeti Chopra criticised her husband and AAP MP Raghav Chadha for raising the issue of film piracy in Parliament.

Actress Parineeti Chopra has praised her husband and politician Raghav Chadha after he raised the issue of piracy in Parliament. The actress called Raghav Chadha a ‘star’.
During his speech in the Rajya Sabha, the AAP MP said, “Sir, as we all know, piracy is an epidemic that is prevalent today not only in the cinema industry but also in the world of OTT platforms. Sir, the film industry and the OTT industry are losing Rs 20,000 crore every year due to piracy and unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted content. And during the pandemic alone, incidents of piracy have increased by 62 per cent.”

Impressed by her speech, the actor shared a post on his ex and wrote, “What can I say about her. You are a star for raising such an important issue in the parliament my love.”

Raghav also said this in his speech Talking about the Cinematography Bill, he said, “I want to ask the Hon’ble Minister that the Cinematography Bill which was passed in this House last year, which mainly deals with anti-camera recording of films in theatres etc., is the Government of India today planning to amend the Cinematography Bill or bring a separate mechanism to deal with piracy on OTT platforms, which is becoming very widespread. Due to this unauthorized reproduction, years of hard work of artists goes waste. So I really urge the Minister through you to create an institutional mechanism to deal with this piracy.”
After Raghav completed his speech, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said, “He knows a lot about the film industry. Recently, he has gained experience.” Veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, who was seated next to Raghav in Parliament, congratulated him, to which Jagdeep said, “Jaya ji has been hardworking ever since she came on the silver screen. It is because of her that the question was asked logically.”
Meanwhile, Parineeti, who was last seen in the Netflix India film Amar Singh Chamkila, married Raghav last year.
