parashakti Director Sudha Kongara Prasad talked about dealing with the targeted attack against his film from Vijay’s fans without mentioning the actor’s name. He called for nuisance and hooliganism against which he had to fight. Parashakti, The film, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan, is about the anti-Hindi agitation in Tamil Nadu in the 1960s.

in an interview with Hollywood Reporter IndiaSudha Kongara Prasad said, “We have a long way to go before we can take the film out there – and I have to do that in this age of marketing. Just allowing your film to do the talking doesn’t seem enough. I hope it takes off during the Pongal weekend and reaches more people.”

The filmmaker also opened up about the slander and defamation he had to face at the hands of a particular actor’s fans. He said, “Defamation, hiding behind anonymous IDs, is the worst kind of defamation. We have to combat it. You wonder where it’s coming from – and you know where it’s coming from.”

The post from the ax handle, BlastingTamilCinema, reads, “CBFC kitta certificate vangurathu perusu illa..Anna fans kitta sorry kittu, apology certificate vangu… inam 1 week irukku, avanga manichu vitta #parasakthi odum” (Getting a CBFC certificate is no big deal. Apologize to the fans of Anna – Vijay – and get the aahat apology certificate. One more week Yes, they will forgive you.

Sudha said that such attacks are not political. He said, “This is coming from fans of an actor whose film has not released, thanks to their own goons. This is the nuisance and hooliganism that we are fighting against.”

Sivakarthikeyan’s parashakti Released in theaters on 10 January. The film stuck with the CBFC (Censor Board of Film Certification) till the last minute and received a U/A certificate with 25 amendments just a day before its scheduled release.
