The makers of ‘Sardarji 3’, starring Diljit Dosanjh, issued a statement on Wednesday, which clarified that Pakistani actor Hania Amir was signed before the terrorist attack in Pahgam. It was also noted that the film was shot before tension between India and Pakistan.

The statement said, “It is to bring everyone’s notice whether the film named ‘Sardarji 3’ was shot well before the prevailing position that our country is facing now and it was never a case whether any Pakistani artist was signed or was engaged after the terrorist attack in Pahgam (SIC).”

It was also said that the decision not to release the film in India was due to the sensitivity of the situation.

“We unite with our country and our fellow countrymen during this sensitive time. Similarly, we decided not to release the film or any promotional material in India until the situation (SIC) is done,”

The upcoming Punjabi film invited backlash on a large scale soon after the trailer was released. Interestingly, it was announced that the film led by Diljit Dosanjh will be released abroad,

Earlier, in a letter to PM Narendra Modi, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWIS) called for a ban on Diljit and manufacturers, who appeal to stop their passports and citizenship.

Inner sources of several industries, including singers Mika Singh and B prey, condemned the decision to cast the manufacturers on social media along with the score of fans. He also gave his opinion on the release of the film.

On 27 June, ‘Sardarji 3’ has been slated to hit abroad.
