Veteran Telugu actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award on 28 April 2025. The President of India implicated him for his contribution to Indian cinema. Later, NBK shared his feelings with fans through a hearty post on his Facebook handle, which is proud of recognition.
Balya shared that he was filled with deep gratitude and emotion by receiving the Padma Bhushan from the President of India. He called it a blessing to be a part of the film industry and to follow the path shown by his father, Nandamuri Tarak Ramaro.
Nandamuri Balakrishna thanked the Government of India, his fans, family and well -wishers for his continuous support. He said that his journey will continue with more strength, purpose and inspiration.

In January 2025, the Government of India announced that Nandamuri Balakrishna would be honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. Along with him, other celebrities including Ajit Kumar and Arijit Singh were also awarded the Padma Awards this year.
On the work front, NBK was last seen in the dacoit Maharaj, directed by an action drama and co-written by Bobby Koli. Produced by Star Entertainments, the film tells the story of a former IES officer, Sitaram, who turns into a savior for a village suffering under the tyranny of a powerful family.
The film included a dress actors, including Pragya Jaiswal, Sachin Khadekar, Shraddha Srinath, Makarand Deshpande and Urvashi Rautela. Released on January 12, 2025, Daku Maharaj performed firmly at the box office despite receiving mixed reviews and is now available for streaming on Netflix.
Currently, Balakrishna is busy shooting Akhanda 2 along with director Boyapati Srinu.
