Actor Aamir Khan’s decision was welcomed by multiplex owners for the theater-cavalry release of ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’. The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) praised the actor’s vision and faith in the magic of cinema.

Kamal Gianchandani of PVR-Inox, who is also the President of MAI, shared the statement by the Multiplex Association on X. He captioned his post as “Thank you Aamir Khan … Sitare Zameen Paar”.

In a joint statement, Jianchandani’s quotation read, “Aamir Khan has always been a filmmaker who puts the audience first. His decision to bring ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ especially in theaters is a significant performance of confidence in theaters and a shared magic of the film’s experience.”

Mai’s president also called ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ as “shiny example of cinema’s flexibility and irreparable magic”. He said, “Indian exhibitions thanked Aamir Khan for standing by theaters. As we welcome the audience with fresh energy and world -class films, ‘Sitare Zammen Paar’ will remain a bright example of the flexibility of cinema and its irreparable magic,” he said.

Among the ongoing theater vs. Oat Debate, Aamir’s bold stance was also appreciated by Cinepolis India, CEO, Deon Sampat. Referring to the creative vision of the actor, Sampat said, “Aamir Khan has always been a filmmaker who makes a dramatic experience. His decision to return theaters with ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is an important moment for all of us.”

“This is not just a film release; it is a message of unbreakable faith in theaters. We are incredibly grateful to Aamir Khan Productions to stand boldly by theaters. ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is the same film that makes people for theater, thoughtful, moving and a collective experience,” she said.

‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is after Aamir’s first release ‘Lal Singh Chafdha’ (2022). He plays a basketball coach for a team of particularly competent children in the film. The film is directed by RS Prasanna and is a remake of the Spanish Sports Drama ‘Champions’ (2018).

Apart from Genelia Deshmukh, the film also has the beginning of the performance of Araush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Samvit Desai, Vedanta Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman -Mishra, and Simran Mishra.

Aamir has co-produced the film with Aparna Purohit, B Srinivasa Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka.

‘Sitare Zameen Paar’ is scheduled for release on 20 June 2025.
