Oppo is working on a powerful new flagship phone, Find X9 Ultra, and early leaks suggest that the camera setup may be a major attraction. The phone is rumored to come with two periscope cameras and possibly two 200-megapixel sensors, which will mark a major change in Oppo’s smartphone camera strategy. Here is everything we know.
A post and later updated on the Chinese platform Weibo shared by Tipster Digital Chat Station, suggests that Find X9 Ultra may have a 200-megapixel main camera with a large sensor in Ultra. In addition, there may be another 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which can also support macro shots. The purpose of this combination is to distribute both high details and better zoom quality.
Overall, the phone may have four rear cameras, including a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and another 50-megapixel “super periscope” lens that can support up to 10X optical zoom. If these details are accurate, the Find X9 will offer one of the most versatile camera setup in the ultra market.
Under the hood, the phone is rumored to be operated by a chipset with model number SM8850, which is believed to have Qualcomm’s next high-end processor-Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. However, the phone cannot be launched this year. Reports indicate that it may be released in early 2026.
The Oppo Find X9 series is expected to include four phones: Find X9, Find X9 Plus, Find X9 Pro, and Search X9 Ultra. The first three models can come by October, going by Oppo’s general launch timeline. These phones are expected to use Meditech’s upcoming Demides 9500 chipset and use flat displays in various sizes, which range from 6.3 to 6.78 inches. The company may also use lipo display tech to reduce bezels and improve screen design.
The rest of the series have also been tipped for the periscope zoom camera, but the ultra model is allegedly being deployed as the most advanced. With a combination of high-resolution sensors and long-range zooms, Find X9 Ultra can be one of the most camera-focused android phones when it is eventually launched. It will be interesting to see what the upcoming Oppo will bring to the Find X series table.
