Oppo is going to launch a new smartphone series in India. The company has shared a teaser of the new Oppo K12x 5G smartphone on Flipkart. The smartphone is reported to have military grade ruggedness and a 5,100mAh battery.

Oppo launched its flagship Reno 12 series in India this month. The series includes the Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones, which are priced above Rs 25,000. The company is now preparing to launch a new series of smartphones in India – the K series. The Oppo K12x 5G, which will be the first device in this series, was recently listed on a microsite on Flipkart with a “Flipkart Unique” sticker – products that are special or exclusive to Flipkart. Oppo has also confirmed that the K12x 5G launch will take place on July 29. It will likely be an online launch.

Oppo has also announced that the K12x 5G will feature a 360-degree damage-resistant armor body. The device uses drop-resistant material inspired by the structure of a sponge to cushion its internal components. The display will be protected by double-reinforced Panda Glass, and the smartphone will have MIL-STD-810H military standard certification for durability. Oppo says the K12x 5G will include an Air Cushion Armor case for added protection.

The Oppo K12x 5G will weigh 186 grams and measure 7.68mm at its thinnest point. The frame will have a matte finish for better grip and the smartphone will come in Breeze Blue and Midnight Violet colours.

So far, Oppo has also confirmed that the K12x 5G will feature a 5,100mAh battery.

It is not yet confirmed if the Oppo K12x 5G launching in India will be the same as the variant launched in China, which was launched recently. But a look at the Chinese model gives us an idea of ​​what we can expect from the smartphone.

The Oppo K12x sports a 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2400-1080, a peak brightness of 2100 nits, and a standard brightness of 1200 nits. The screen is responsive to touch even with wet hands and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz or 60Hz.

The K12x features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. Its 5500mAh battery supports fast charging via various protocols including SuperVOOC, VOOC 3.0, PD3.0, and UFCS.

For photography, the device sports a 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture and autofocus, although it lacks OIS. Additionally, there is a 2-megapixel portrait lens with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture and 82-degree field of view.
