Oppo Reno 12 series launched in India: Check price, availability and key specifications
Oppo has today launched the Reno 12 series in India. The series includes two smartphones, the Oppo Reno 12 5G with a starting price of Rs 32,999 and the Oppo Reno 12 Pro with a price of Rs 36,999. The Pro version will be available from July 18.
Oppo has finally launched its latest flagship series, which includes the Oppo Reno 12 and Reno 12 Pro smartphones. With the launch, the prices of both the devices have been revealed. The Oppo Reno 12 is priced at Rs 32,999, while the Reno 12 Pro starts at Rs 36,999. Both models have limited features in common, such as they feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset. The design and other features are very different. The Reno 12 Pro 5G is available in Sunset Gold and Space Brown, while the Reno 12 will be available in three colours: Sunset Peach, Matte Brown, and Astro Silver.
Oppo Reno 12 series: Price and availability
The Oppo Reno 12 series has finally been launched in India. The smartphone company has launched the Oppo Reno 12 5G at a price of Rs 32,999 for the variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage and it will be available from July 25. The Reno 12 Pro, on the other hand, has been launched at a starting price of Rs 36,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage and Rs 40,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.
The company is also offering several discount offers on the smartphone. On purchasing the device, the user can get instant cashback of up to Rs 4,000. The company is also offering no cost EMI up to 9 months. The device will be available on the home website, Flipkart and other retail stores.
Oppo Reno 12 series: Key features
The Reno 12 series features a quad-micro curved Infinite View screen, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 in the Pro variant and Gorilla Glass 7i in the base model for improved durability and scratch resistance. Both models feature a 6.7-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, peaking at 1200nits of brightness.
The series features all-round armor protection that enhances resistance to drops and impacts. The high-strength alloy framework, which comprises of metals such as copper, magnesium, and silicon, ensures a robust and corrosion-resistant build that meets aerospace quality standards. Both devices are IP65-rated for dust and water resistance with robust components such as speakers, USB-C port, and SIM card tray.
The Reno12 series is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC. The octa-core CPU ensures seamless usability and extended battery life. The MediaTek APU 655 enhances AI performance, enabling innovative features such as AI Clear Face, AI Writer, AI Recording Summary, and AI Eraser 2.0.
Both models feature a massive 5000mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. The series promises up to four years of battery life making it a reliable option for long-term usage.
Oppo Reno 12 Pro
The Reno12 Pro is tested by SGS for Premium Performance 5 Star Multi-Scene Protection, which includes water and shock resistance, among other features. The Reno12 Pro 5G – available in Sunset Gold and Space Brown – features a Panda Glass back that sports a dual texture: the upper half is treated with anti-glare technology that is smudge-resistant, while the lower glossy area is defined by a smooth ribbon that shows the OPPO branding.
The main camera on the Pro version is 50MP, with Sony’s LYT-600 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). It also has a 50MP telephoto camera with Samsung JN5 sensor for 2x portrait zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. Photos taken with this camera boast excellent background compression for more dramatic portraits without any distortion on the face. For selfies, the Reno 12 Pro comes with a 50MP JN5 sensor.
Oppo Reno 12 5G
The Reno12 features SGS Performance 5 Star Multiscene performance including low blue light and a flicker-free screen to prevent eye fatigue. The Reno12 will be available in three colours: Sunset Peach, Matte Brown and Astro Silver. The Astro Silver colour combines OPPO’s Fluid Ripple texture to create the illusion of liquid on a smooth surface, while Sunset Peach’s graphic liquid crystal process creates a new take on the colour of the year 2024. For a more classic look, Matte Brown has a rich cocoa hue in a fingerprint-free finish.
The Reno 12 replaces the Pro’s telephoto camera with a 2MP OV02B10 macro camera that takes shots up to 4cm close-up, and the GalaxyCore’s 32MP GC32E2 sensor for front-facing selfies, which delivers richer details and shading in photography and videography.
