Oppo is expected to launch Find N5, aka the OnePlus Open 2 in a few weeks, and teasers come. According to Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau, Find N5 will have an almost invisible crease feature – a big claim, given that we are talking about a foldable phone. He said, Lau cannot be wrong after all, as the initial images suggest the crease – while still there – seems to be much less noticeable than the previous generation.
OnePlus Open 2 is expected to be a rebranded version of Oppo Find N5 for global markets, possibly sharing the same progress. The first onePlus was already one of the crease visible among the foldable phones at the Open, but this time, Oppo is furthering things. The recently shared image of Find N5 keeps it together that appears to be the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, which highlights the difference in crease visibility.
Beyond the crease, another major tech uve is the ultra-r profile of the device. Oppo officials have repeatedly emphasized that Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest foldable. If the leaks are accurate, by N5 – and by extensions, OnePlus Open 2 – Honor Magic V3 can take the title, which currently measures 4.35 mm when unfolded and when turned 9.2 mm. The new Oppo foldable is also rumored to be slimmer when it is coming at about 4 mm.
However, the design is not changing too much. Depending on the leaked images, the Find N5 will maintain relatively thick bezels of its predecessor. The selfie camera is expected to stay in the top-right corner of the inner display. Another notable design option is circular camera module, which resembles the Oppo Find X8 Pro and the original OnePlus Open. Hasselblad branding remains an important feature, and a periscope telephoto lens is expected as part of the camera setup.
Oppo has also changed the placement of microphones and speakers, which may indicate better audio quality. Meanwhile, Leaks suggests that the N5 may use a titanium frame, making it lightened without compromising strength.
Under the hood, OnePlus Open 2 is expected to come up with support for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Chipset, 6,000mAh battery and satellite communication. Wireless charging is another rumor joint, a feature that was earlier missing from the OnePlus Open. Expected color options include black, white and possibly more.
With the expectation of an official debut of N5 around 19 or 20 February, before we won’t see that Oppo’s claims are in the use of the real world. If the crease is actually as low as the teaser suggests and the ultra-skinned design distributes on its promises, then Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2 can set new standards for foldables in 2025.
