Oppo has officially announced that its flagship foldable, the Oppo Find N5, will be launched in China in February this year. Oppo’s Chief Product Officer, Pete Lau (better known as Liu Zuohu) has confirmed the imminent launch of the Oppo Find N5 through a teaser image shared on Weibo. Lau, who is also the co-founder and CEO of OnePlus, revealed that the upcoming device will be the world’s thinnest foldable flagship smartphone.

Last time, Oppo released the Find N3 in China in 2023, days after it was rebranded globally as OnePlus Open. Looking at the trends, we think the company will follow the same timeline. For context, Oppo is the parent company of OnePlus.
The teaser poster shows that the Oppo Find N5 aka OnePlus Open 2 is thinner than a standard pencil, which is usually 7-8 mm thick. Based on this, the phone appears to be around 4mm thick when unfolded, which suggests that its thickness could be less than 10mm when folded. Well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has also supported this claim and confirmed that the Find N5 will be the world’s thinnest foldable phone, leaving behind the current record-holder Honor Magic V3.
Oppo Find N3 aka OnePlus Open 2: Expected specifications
According to earlier rumors and leaks, the Oppo Find N5 will feature a titanium build, which should offer better durability than its predecessor. The device is expected to come with an IPX8 waterproof rating, making up for the lack of an IP rating on its predecessor.

The Find N5 is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, backed by a robust 6,000mAh battery. It is speculated to feature wireless charging capabilities of up to 50W as well as 80W or 100W fast charging.
On the back, the phone may feature a versatile camera setup, including a 50MP main sensor, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses.
OnePlus Open 2 launch timeline
From a Finnish perspective, the Oppo Find N5 is of particular interest as it is expected to serve as the basis for the OnePlus Open 2, which is scheduled to be released a little later.

Early renders of the OnePlus Open 2 have already surfaced, revealing a roughly 8-inch foldable inner screen and a 6.4-inch cover screen – both slightly smaller than the original OnePlus Open’s 7.82-inch inner screen and 6.31-inch cover screen. Are big.
While earlier rumors suggested the OnePlus Open 2 could launch in the second half of 2025, the February debut of the Oppo Find N5 in China has raised expectations for an earlier release, potentially in the spring or early summer .
