The Oppo A6 series has more models than you can imagine. Well, you probably don’t spend your days imagining an A6 phone, but here’s a new model that has just launched in India – say “hello” to the Oppo A6 Pro 5G.
No, this is not the Oppo A6 Pro 5G. Not even for China. And don’t mix it with the A6 Pro 4G. Yes, we wish Oppo had chosen a different name for it.
The Oppo A6 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 6300 and a large 7,000mAh battery. The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128/256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. There’s a microSD slot if you need more storage. At the same time, the battery supports 80W SuperVOOC charging (33W PPS).
After 30 minutes with an 80W charger, the battery can reach 54%. It will take 64 minutes to fully charge. Oppo promises that the battery will be in good condition after 5 years of use. On a day-to-day basis, it can last up to 12 hours of MOBA gaming and around 22 hours of streaming video.

So far, it looks similar to the global A6 Pro 5G. The model just launched in India has a different display – a 6.75″ LCD with a 720 x 1,520px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate (100% sRGB, 8-bit color). The panel can hit 900 nits of brightness and boost up to 1,125 nits in HBM. The global model instead has a 6.57″ 1080p+ OLED.
Everything else is pretty much the same, for example a 50MP camera at the back (1080p @ 60fps video recording) with a 2MP helper module, as well as a 16MP selfie camera (1080p @ 30fps video).
The Oppo A6 Pro 5G has two nano-SIM slots with 5G NR support (bands: 1, 3, 5, 8, 28B, 38, 40, 41, 48, 77, 78). Additionally, there is Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.4 (aptX HD, LDAC). NFC is not supported and there is no 3.5mm headphone jack. At least there are stereo speakers on board.
The design remains largely the same, with a thickness of 8.6 mm and a weight of 216 grams. It is available in Cappuccino Brown and Aurora Gold. The body is rated IP66, IP68 and IP69 (it is protected against dust and splashes, waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and resistant against hot water jets).
