OnePlus appears to be ready to expand its Turbo lineup with a new pair of smartphones, and ahead of the official launch, leaks and teasers have already painted quite a detailed picture. The OnePlus Turbo 6 series, which includes the Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V, is now confirmed to launch in China on January 8. While early hints had raised expectations of a flagship-level device, the information available so far suggests that OnePlus is positioning these phones as a high-performance mid-range offering, potentially aligning with its next-generation Nord strategy rather than its premium flagship series. Here’s everything you need to know, including its design details, expected price, and specifications.

OnePlus Turbo 6 launching next week: Design confirmed ahead of January 8 launch

The biggest takeaway from the leak is that OnePlus is placing more emphasis on performance and battery life. When the company talked about “very powerful performance” and “biggest battery ever”, it now seems clear that this promise is being made in the context of the mid-range segment. This approach could help OnePlus target users who want near-flagship power without stepping into premium pricing territory.

In terms of design, the OnePlus Turbo 6 is inspired by the recently launched OnePlus 15 series, but there are a few noticeable changes. The phone still has a clean rear panel with a boxy frame and square-shaped camera module. Unlike earlier OnePlus designs, which had sensors grouped into a pill-shaped island, the Turbo 6 places its rear cameras individually in a vertical layout, giving it a slightly more industrial look. The camera bump itself appears minimal, keeping the overall design quite sleek. OnePlus has already introduced the phone in Light Chaser Silver, Lone Black, and a shade of green, which translates as Wild or Wilderness Green, all of which lean toward subtle, muted tones.

OnePlus Turbo 6: Full details (confirmed/leaked)

The official teaser and online listing have also confirmed several key specifications. The OnePlus Turbo 6 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, which is promised to deliver flagship-grade performance while being more power-efficient. On the front, the phone will have a display with 1.5K resolution and a high 165Hz refresh rate, which is clearly aimed at gamers and users who prioritize smooth scrolling and animations. One of the most attractive aspects is the battery, with OnePlus confirming a massive 9,000mAh capacity. Charging support is equally ambitious, with 80W wired fast charging and 27W reverse wired charging also teased. Additionally, the phone is said to come with an IP69 rating, suggesting a high level of dust and water resistance.

The Turbo 6 will be available in multiple RAM and storage options, including 12GB RAM with 256GB or 512GB storage, as well as a 16GB RAM variant with the same storage options. These configurations have already appeared on OnePlus’ official China website and major e-commerce platforms like JD.com, where pre-reservations for the Turbo 6 series are currently live.

Along with the Turbo 6, OnePlus will also introduce the Turbo 6V, which sits slightly lower in the lineup. The Turbo 6V will have a dual rear camera setup and will be offered in Fearless Blue, Lone Black and Nova White color options. It is confirmed to run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and will come with a 6.8-inch 1.5K OLED display supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. While OnePlus hasn’t officially detailed battery and charging specs for the 6V, the leak suggests it may also have a 9,000mAh battery, which would be unusual and impressive for its segment. The Turbo 6V is expected to be sold in 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB variants.

Pricing details have also surfaced via tipster Paras Guglani, who claims that the OnePlus Turbo 6 could be priced under CNY 2,000 in China, i.e. around Rs 25,000. The Turbo 6V is said to be even more aggressive, coming for less than CNY 1,799 i.e. around Rs 23,000. For India, the tipster suggests that the Turbo series may come at a higher price, possibly around Rs 35,000, although this has not been confirmed by OnePlus.

OnePlus Turbo 6 series will officially launch in China on January 8 at 7PM local time, i.e. 4:30PM IST. With the company constantly revealing specifications through teasers and listings, more clarity about cameras, software features, and global availability is expected in the days leading up to the event.
