After the launch of OnePlus Pad in April 2023, the company is planning to release the successor of the device – OnePlus Pad 2. Previously, rumors and leaks were roaming on the internet, but now OnePlus President Lee Geum has hinted at the upcoming Pad 2. He explains that the upcoming device will bring several advanced updates.

Jim revealed on Chinese social media that the upcoming OnePlus Pad 2 will come with many industry first features. Officially, the company has not given any information about this. But we can expect major updates and better features than its previous model.

OnePlus Pad 2: Launch date

OnePlus has not revealed the launch details of the upcoming tablet, but rumour has it that the launch has been delayed as per schedule. But as per other leaks, the OnePlus Pad 2 is expected to be launched in the second half of 2024. The reason for the delay of the OnePlus Pad 2 is unknown right now, but it could be because the Oppo Pad 3 is still under development. For reference, the OnePlus Pad was a rebranded version of the Oppo Pad 2. So, the new version could also be a rebranding, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

OnePlus Pad 2: Specifications (expected)

While the specifications are still under wraps, the device was recently spotted on the Geekbench certification website. This suggests that the OnePlus Pad 2 could feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. For comparison, the OnePlus Pad was equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. The listing also reveals that the tablet will run on Android 14.

The leak also suggests that the tablet may feature a 12.1-inch IPS LCD 144Hz display with a maximum brightness of 900 nits. This indicates that the OnePlus Pad 2 will be larger than its previous model. It is also expected to have an 11.6-inch display.

As for the cameras, the upcoming device is speculated to feature a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera, which is similar to the camera setup available on the OnePlus Pad. As per rumours, the upcoming OnePlus Pad 2 may also be launched in Khaki Green and Space Gray colour options and may come in four storage variants, including 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 16GB+512GB.

It is worth noting that these details and specifications are based on rumours and leaks. But the official announcement could happen soon.
