OnePlus has officially introduced the Ace 6T in China, which is the first smartphone to launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. The Ace 6T is expected to launch in India as the OnePlus 15R. The device not only improves on its predecessor but also outperforms the flagship OnePlus 15 in one key area.

OnePlus Ace 6T’s battery is bigger than OnePlus 15

The biggest feature of the OnePlus Ace 6T is its 8,300mAh battery, which is one of the largest we’ve ever seen in a performance flagship. The battery uses a high-density silicon-carbon anode design and supports 100W wired fast charging. OnePlus claims that it can be charged 50 percent in just 23 minutes. For reference, the OnePlus 15 packs a 7,300mAh battery.

OnePlus Ace 6T and OnePlus 15R to debut new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC

Under the hood, the OnePlus Ace 6T features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC, built on a 3nm process. The OnePlus 15R will be the first model to bring this chipset to global markets. The phone also includes a proprietary G2 network chip and a custom display chip, along with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. OnePlus has reported an AnTuTu score of around 3.56 million, which is not far behind the latest flagship powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

OnePlus Ace 6T display, camera and other features

The display on the Ace 6T is a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED panel with 1.5K resolution and up to 165Hz adaptive refresh rate. It has 10-bit color, 100 percent DCI-P3 coverage, with a peak brightness of 3,600 nits. For gamers, there’s a 3200Hz touch sampling rate and a custom Lingxi touch chip to reduce input lag. Display specifications are expected to remain the same in OnePlus 15R.

The camera hardware consists of a dual setup: a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 main sensor with OIS and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera on the back. The front camera is a 16-megapixel unit. In India, the OnePlus 15R is expected to get a 50-megapixel ultrawide.

Gaming is the central focus of the device. It features a glacier cooling system with vapor chambers and layered graphite for heat management.

Other notable features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, IP66/68/69/69K dust and water resistance, and Android 16 with ColorOS 16. Ace 6T has been introduced in Phantom Green, Electric Purple and Flash Black. It also comes with a special Genshin Impact Kamisato Ayaka Limited Edition. However, it is unclear whether the OnePlus 15R will get this variant globally or not.

OnePlus Ace 6T and OnePlus 15R launch and expected price

OnePlus Ace 6T price starts at 2,599 Yuan (roughly Rs. 33,230) for the 12GB/256GB model, rising to 3,899 Yuan (roughly Rs. 49,850) for the 16GB/1TB variant.

There is very little information available about the price of OnePlus 15R in India. This device will be available for sale in our market on December 17th. Its predecessor, the OnePlus 13R, was launched at Rs 42,999.
