OnePlus 16 information revealed, may come with new Pro chipset
The OnePlus 15 made its global debut just a few weeks ago and now, rumors have emerged, giving us an idea of what we can expect in the OnePlus 16. The next-generation OnePlus flagship may come with Qualcomm’s new Pro chipset.
OnePlus may have faced a busy time over the past few weeks due to rumors of it potentially shutting down its operations. However, it seems like the phone maker is working on bringing some major upgrades to its next-generation flagship device, the OnePlus 16. Here are all the details.
OnePlus 16 may come with new Qualcomm chipset
According to OnePlus Club on X, the OnePlus 16 may get some notable additions over its predecessor. The device may use Qualcomm’s yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset. This chipset is likely to be a more powerful version of the rumored Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 SoC.
This chipset can be paired with the new LPDDR6X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. For reference, the OnePlus 15 packs LPDDR5X RAM.
OnePlus 16 display and camera upgrade
The OnePlus 15 comes with a 165Hz AMOLED display, the first in a OnePlus device. It looks like the OnePlus 16 may go one step further. According to reports, the OnePlus 16 may use a new 240Hz refresh rate OLED display with 1.5K resolution. The ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is also likely to be improved.
On the camera front, the OnePlus 16 may come with a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 main sensor. The device could also use the same sensors as its telephone lenses, giving us two 200-megapixel sensors. The ultrawide camera can also see an upgrade from the OnePlus 15’s 50-megapixel unit.
We can also expect an upgrade when it comes to the battery. While the OnePlus 15 already had a larger 7,300mAh cell, the OnePlus 16 could have a 9,000mAh battery. The device may support 120W wired and 50W wireless fast charging.
OnePlus 16 launch and expected price
It is unclear whether the OnePlus 16 will actually launch in India or not. This device may be limited to the Chinese market.
Although there is no official statement on pricing yet, the report says that the OnePlus 16 could be priced at 4,999 Yuan (roughly Rs. 66,000) in China.
