OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 to launch tomorrow, everything we know so far
OnePlus is set to unveil the OnePlus 15R smartphone and OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablet in India on December 17, 2025, in a livestream event from Bengaluru. Here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming devices.

OnePlus is all set to kick off 2025 with a major product launch in India. The company will unveil the OnePlus 15R and OnePlus Pad Go 2 tablets at an offline event in Bengaluru tomorrow, December 17, 2025, which will also be livestreamed globally. While the 15R is expected to enter the market as a strong mid-range smartphone that offers a flagship-like experience, the Pad Go 2 will position itself as a new premium Android tablet option.
Let’s take a look at what OnePlus has confirmed so far and what else we can expect from these upcoming premium devices.
OnePlus 15R confirmed information
OnePlus has already revealed several key specifications of the OnePlus 15R, positioning it as a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the 13R. The biggest confirmed feature is the 7,400mAh battery, which OnePlus says is not only bigger than the unit inside the 13R, but also bigger than the battery on the flagship OnePlus 15. The company also claims that the battery is built to handle extreme conditions and will retain at least 80 percent of its capacity even after four years of use.
Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, which will make its global debut with the OnePlus 15R. According to OnePlus, the chip has been co-developed and co-optimized with Qualcomm over 24 months to deliver better performance and efficiency. Along with the main processor, the 15R also gets the OnePlus G2 Wi-Fi chip for better connectivity, as well as a dedicated touch response chip that allows the display to register touch inputs significantly faster.
The phone will run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 and is expected to be offered with 12GB and 16GB RAM options, with storage going up to 512GB.
On the display front, OnePlus has confirmed a 165Hz refresh rate 1.5K AMOLED panel. Durability will be another talking point of the upcoming 15R, with the company officially confirming IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance, which is a first for the R-series.
The camera is another area where the 15R is getting a meaningful upgrade. OnePlus has confirmed that the phone will have a 32-megapixel front camera that also supports autofocus. The selfie camera can record 4K video at up to 30fps, which is a notable jump from the 1080p limit on the OnePlus 13R.
On the back, the OnePlus 15R will support 4K video recording at 120fps, bringing flagship-level video capabilities to the mid-range segment. While OnePlus has not yet revealed the full rear camera hardware, the leak suggests a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an ultrawide lens along with optical image stabilization (OIS).
In terms of design, the OnePlus 15R looks a lot like the OnePlus Ace 6T, which was recently launched in China. If this is true, then the phone may feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution and advanced touch sampling. OnePlus has already confirmed three color options for India: Charcoal Black, Mint Green, and a special Ace Edition shade called Electric Violet.
OnePlus Pad Go 2 confirmed information
Along with the 15R, OnePlus will also introduce the OnePlus Pad Go 2, an advanced tablet for students and young professionals. OnePlus has confirmed a 12.1-inch display with a 2800 x 1980 resolution and Dolby Vision support, making it suitable for streaming, reading, and productivity.
The tablet packs a 10,050mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC charging. OnePlus claims up to 15 hours of video playback, 53 hours of music and up to 60 days of standby time. Reverse charging is supported, and will include a 45W charger in the box.
Another confirmed upgrade is stylus support, thanks to the introduction of the Pad Go 2 Stylo, which offers 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and fast charging. On the software front, OnePlus is adding new AI-powered features like AI Writer, AI Summary, AI Translation, and AI Recorder to enhance productivity. The company has also confirmed an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant with 5G support, which will launch in Shadow Black.
OnePlus 15R and Pad Go 2 expected price in India
Price undisclosed. However, rumors suggest that the OnePlus 15R may launch for around Rs 45,000, which is lower than the flagship OnePlus 15’s starting price of Rs 72,999. For reference, the Ace 6T price in China starts at around Rs 33,000.
Meanwhile, expectations for the OnePlus Pad Go 2 point towards a price below Rs 25,000, although official figures will be revealed tomorrow.
