OnePlus has launched OnePlus 15. For all intents and purposes, this is the most power-packed and feature-rich phone out there now, although when you compare it to its predecessor, the OnePlus 13, there are a few areas where even OnePlus has taken a step back. OnePlus 15 vs OnePlus 13 and iPhone 17: 11 differences you should know before buying

1. Design

The OnePlus 15 gets a new square camera module design and is built with an aerospace-grade metal frame. OnePlus 13 and iPhone 17 come with aluminum frames.

The OnePlus 15 gets Gorilla Glass Victus 2 screen protection and Gorilla Glass 7i for the back (except for the Sandstorm variant which gets a fiberglass backplate). The OnePlus 13 features Ceramic Guard screen protection and a glass or eco-leather back design. iPhone 17 has Ceramic Shield 2 protection on the front and glass on the back.

2. Display

The OnePlus 15 is the first OnePlus device to feature a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz display. But it’s a 1.5K panel, compared to the 2K (1440p) 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED in the OnePlus 13. OnePlus 13 has a 144Hz refresh rate.

In comparison, the iPhone 17 gets a 6.3-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which Apple has labeled ProMotion.

3. Processor

The OnePlus 15 comes with Qualcomm’s latest and greatest SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The new chipset is a big upgrade from the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the OnePlus 13. The iPhone 17, on the other hand, is powered by Apple’s own silicon, the A19 chipset.

4. Display

OnePlus is doubling down on performance with the OnePlus 15. The device comes with a dedicated G2 gaming chip for a better experience while gaming, which the OnePlus 13 lacked. Such a dedicated chip is not available even in iPhone 17.

5. Rear cameras

The OnePlus 15 has ditched Hasselblad for the company’s in-house DetailMax engine. The phone comes with a triple 50-megapixel setup with main, ultrawide and telephoto. The OnePlus 13 also uses triple 50-megapixel cameras, but the sensors are larger and come with Hasselblad tuning. The iPhone 17 opts for a dual 48-megapixel main and ultrawide setup.

6. Video

The OnePlus 15 supports 8K video at 30fps, while the iPhone 17 maxes out at 4K with Dolby Vision HDR and stereo recording. The OnePlus 13 also supports 8K video at 30fps. However, the OnePlus 15 is the only device that can record 4K videos at 120fps.

7. Selfie Camera

The OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 13 pack an identical 32-megapixel selfie shooter. However the former gets HDR support. The iPhone 17 comes with an 18-megapixel center stage selfie camera that can also take group selfies in portrait orientation.

8. Battery

The OnePlus 15 has a large 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery. In comparison, the OnePlus 13 has a 6,000mAh battery. Apple does not officially disclose battery figures for iPhones. But it is estimated that iPhone 17 has a battery pack of 3692mAh.

9. Charging

The OnePlus 15 supports 120W wired fast charging, compared to 100W charging support on the OnePlus 13. Both devices support 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The iPhone 17 supports up to 40W fast wired charging and 25W wireless charging via MagSafe.

10. IP Rating

The OnePlus 15 comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. On the other hand, the OnePlus 13 has IP68 and IP69 ratings, while the iPhone 17 only has an IP68 rating.

11. price

OnePlus 15 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 72,999 (12GB/256GB). This is a significantly higher price than the OnePlus 13, which was launched at Rs 69,999 (12GB/256GB). The price of iPhone 17 starts from Rs 82,900.
