The compact flagship smartphone segment is becoming exciting again with two highly anticipated launch- OnePlus 13T and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. On one hand, OnePlus has confirmed that it is launching OnePlus 13T in China on 24 April. The device will be a trimmed-down version of the company’s head. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be official on 13 May. Samsung gave the first teaser of the device during the Galaxy Unpacked event 2025.
While both devices are expected to come up with flagship-grade performance in a compact and stylish look factor, they will probably vary in their priorities. Rumors indicate that while OnePlus will aim more on a compact but powerful flagship, Samsung is asked for a target for premium feel, ultra-slim form and camera power. While nothing has been confirmed by companies on the basis of rumors and rendering, there is a wide breakdown of what to expect from these upcoming compact flagships.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Design
Looking at the teaser photographs, the phone is confirmed to facilitate a new flat design with flag-off edges, which is away from the curved aesthetics of the flagship siblings. The device is also rumored to arrive in three mats finish color options – Morning Mist Gray, Cloud Ink Black and a special pink version.
Another notable design change is called a new metal cube deco rear camera housing, which will give the device a cleaner and more integrated look.
On the other hand, after the teaser, Samsung has indicated that the Galaxy S25 edge will mainly go to all thin, which is expected to measure only 5.84 mm in thickness, making it the thinnest Galaxy phone ever.
Its strength, light nature and resistance to scratch also feature a titanium frame. Leaked designs suggest that the phone can reach the titanium icy blue, jet black and silver, showing a greater premium, ultra-solit profile.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Display
On the display front, OnePlus is asked to equip 13T with a 6.32-inch flat 1.5k OLED display, which offers a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and fluid animations. The flat display will appeal to users who find the curved screen more prone to casual touch.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to sports a high-resolution AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, although the exact size is unconfirmed.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Chipset
Both phones are expected to be operated by Snapdragon 8 General 3 Elite Edition, Qualcomm’s Top-Tyer Chipset. Chipset is already being used in flagship.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Edge has been tipped to ship with 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB storage option. OnePlus has not confirmed its memory configuration for 13T, but a similar variant can be expected, given its major level situation.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Camera
On the photography, OnePlus 13T will have a dual rear camera setup, including a 50-megapixel primary sensor and 50-megapixel 2x telephoto lens.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to sport the 200-megapixel main sensor, which has been paired with an additional lens (possibly ultra-wide or telephoto). The 12-megapixel selfie camera is also expected.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Battery
It is said that OnePlus is targeted to take a big jump in battery life with 13T. The phone is rumored for a 6,000mAh+ battery house, which is still the largest in a compact OnePlus device, and supports 80W fast charging.
In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Edge may have a 4,000mAh battery. A small battery slim design may be in line to support the frame.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: Software and AI
In China, however, the device will initially launch with Coloros 15, while any global version – if it launches – is probably based on oxygenos -Android 15, which is the same as usual. OnePlus is also expected to introduce some AI features such as flagship.
Samsung will probably run a UI 7 of Samsung built on Android 15. Samsung is likely to be added to AI suite with flagship.
OnePlus 13T vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge: India Price and Availability
Pricing is another area where both phones vary greatly. OnePlus 13T is expected to be around Rs 55,000 in India. In contrast, the Galaxy S25 Edge can range from Rs 1,13,000 to Rs 1,31,900, which can lead to a much higher premium offering.
