A new compact phone is coming soon in the Indian market – OnePlus 13S. You can already know the name or guess it as an India version of OnePlus 13T, which was launched in China last month. Whether it is a rebrand or not, OnePlus officially confirmed that 13S is coming soon, the Snapdragon 8 is powered by a elite chipset.

OnePlus has also shared a teaser showing the design of OnePlus 13S, which looks similar to OnePlus 13T. Both devices have the same chipset. However, given that OnePlus has opted not to launch 13T, a new smartphone fully focuses on the Indian market, we can see some internal tweaks. The exact launch date is still under raps, but OnePlus confirmed that it is “soon,” is a sign of a launch within the next few weeks.

What is expected from OnePlus 13s

Well, OnePlus 13S has created a lot of discussion before it was officially announced. There has been an important interest from Indian users. And this interest is supported by Counterpoint Research that suggests that 74 percent of Indian compact phones want, but 68 percent of them feel that sufficient good options are not available. So when OnePlus 13T was launched in China, users estimated that OnePlus would also bring the device to the Indian market.

Well, not OnePlus 13T. But OnePlus 13S. From leaks and official photographs, which are out, it is clear that the displays are similar to the specs OnePlus 13T. The chipset is also confirmed and is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Looks familiar, fresh color

From the teaser shared by OnePlus, a Dopelganger of the 13s OnePlus 13T appears – adding to the discussion that it is a Rebrand of 13T for the Indian market. While the official color names are still wrapped, two different options appear from the teaser images: a classic black and a more playful pink.

At the rear, the phone has a dual-camera setup arranged in a squarel module. It looks like 13T – compact, clean, and with a flat design that follows modern aesthetics that are following many brands nowadays.

Demonstration and construction

For the front, OnePlus has not yet disclosed much. However, it is confirmed that OnePlus 13S will have a 6.32-inch Ltpo AMOLED display with fullHD+ resolution. This is likely to support an adaptive refresh rate from 1Hz to 120Hz. The panel has been tipped to come up with Oppo’s proprietary crystal shield glass, which will offer scratch resistance and good durability.

Another interesting change that comes with the new OnePlus phone is the shortcut key. This button will replace the prestigious alert slider seen on the first onePlus devices. This will allow adaptable key users to launch apps quickly, tolerate the sound profile or perform other quick actions – similar to the action button on the iPhone.

OnePlus has confirmed that the 13S Snapdragon 8 will be operated by the latest top level processor of the Elite Chipset-Callcomm. The chipset promises to offer powerful performance capable of handling demands such as gaming, intense multitasking and AI-operated features.

Camera setup

In terms of photography, OnePlus 13S is expected to include a 50-megapixel main sensor with a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto lens. On the front, it may have a 16-megapixel camera for selfie and video calls.

Big battery in compact body

Despite its small form factor, OnePlus 13S is expected to pack a large 6260mAh battery using silicon-carbon technology. This battery technique resulted in better energy density and long battery life. Additionally, the device is likely to support 80W fast charging.

The phone is also rumored to facilitate the in-display fingerprint scanner as well as an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

What will be the cost of OnePlus 13S?

While OnePlus has not announced official pricing, the buzz is that the price of OnePlus 13S will be around Rs 50,000 in India. For reference, OnePlus 13t is priced at CNY 3,399 (about Rs 39,700) in China. If the OnePlus follows the expected pricing, it keeps the OnePlus 13S neatly between the OnePlus 13R which comes at Rs 42,999 and the flagship OnePlus 13 costs Rs 69,999.
