Introduction and Specifications
The OnePlus 13R is a direct successor to last year’s OnePlus 12R, and is a smaller version of the flagship, the OnePlus 13. It retains some high-end features while cutting some corners, and as a result, it comes with a more palatable price tag.
As is usually the case, the 13R adopts Qualcomm’s previous top-end chipset – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. There are no changes in the display department, with the device offering a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel.

However, there is a slight bump in the camera hardware. The OnePlus 13R now has three usable cameras, including a 2x zoom 50MP shooter in addition to a 50MP main unit and an 8MP ultrawide.
There have also been significant upgrades in battery technology. It is now a silicon-carbon battery with a 6,000 mAh capacity. This alone will extend the battery life of the 13R even more. The 12R had excellent battery endurance anyway.
The OnePlus 12R remains quite competitive throughout 2024, so the 13R has big shoes to fill. But with these upgrades, we could see that happening.
Unboxing the OnePlus 13R
The OnePlus 13R retail box is very modest (at least in our European spec device). It only has a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging but no charger or protective case.
The handset supports up to 80W fast charging over the proprietary SuperVOOC standard, so you’ll need to purchase a charger separately.
The charger is available in other markets, so make sure you check with the retailer of your choice.
