OnePlus 13 price drops on Amazon, but should you buy it or wait for OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 13 is now selling at a reduced price of Rs 63,999 on Amazon, but with the OnePlus 15 launch just a few days away, buyers might be better off waiting for the new flagship.

There has been a big drop in the price of OnePlus 13 on Amazon. This device, which was launched in India for Rs 69,999, is now being sold on Amazon for Rs 63,999. This means it has got a flat discount of Rs 6,000 just ahead of the India launch of OnePlus 15 on November 13. The timing makes it an interesting situation for buyers, do you buy the proven OnePlus 13 at the lower price, or wait for the new flagship that is just around the corner? Before that let’s take a look at the differences between the two phones.

OnePlus 13 vs OnePlus 15: Specs comparison in detail

The OnePlus 13 introduced a premium eco-leather back that gave it a distinctive look among its competitors. But it looks like the upcoming OnePlus 15 has moved away from that option. It gets a new square-shaped camera module – ditching the familiar circular one – and has opted for a matte glass back instead of leather. Although the new design may look cleaner, it has lost some of the grip and character that made the 13 different. The 15 is also slightly thinner at 8.1mm compared to 8.5mm, weighing less than 215 grams.

On paper, the OnePlus 15 gets a display boost. It features a BOE-made LTPO AMOLED screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. In comparison, the OnePlus 13 offers a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and faster QHD+ resolution. While the jump up to 165Hz sounds exciting, the reality is that most games and apps still cap at 120Hz, meaning you won’t always notice the added smoothness. However, the 15’s higher 1,800 nits HBM brightness can make outdoor visibility better than the 13’s 1,600 nits.

The OnePlus 13’s camera system was widely praised for its balance of performance and quality. It features Hasselblad tuning and three powerful sensors, including a large 1/1.4-inch Sony LYT808 primary camera. The OnePlus 15 also has a triple 50MP setup, primary, ultrawide and periscope. But sensor sizes have gotten smaller across the board. The 15’s main Sony IMX906 sensor is smaller, its periscope lens offers a slightly longer 3.5x zoom (up from 3x), but the Hasselblad branding is gone.

Instead, OnePlus is introducing its new DetailMax Engine, which promises “clear and true-to-life” photos through advanced computational imaging. This looks promising, but until reviews come out, it’s hard to say whether this change will improve image quality or not. Both models have a 32MP front camera capable of shooting 4K 60fps videos and rear cameras capable of shooting up to 8K 30fps.

Performance is where the OnePlus 15 takes a clear lead. It runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with UFS 4.1 storage compared to the 13’s older Snapdragon 8 Elite and UFS 4.0 storage. Therefore, it should offer seamless multitasking, slightly faster app loads, and overall better efficiency.

Battery capacity is another area of improvement. The OnePlus 15 packs a large 7,300mAh silicon-carbon cell, offering 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. Meanwhile, the OnePlus 13 has a 6,000mAh battery with 100W wired and similar 50W wireless support. Both should easily last a whole day, but the newer model should go further and charge faster.

The OnePlus 15 runs Android 16 out of the box, while the OnePlus 13 comes with Android 15. Both phones promise long-term software support and include AI features like photo eraser tool and smart system optimization. Day-to-day differences in software are unlikely to be much, especially after updates are released.

So, should you buy the OnePlus 13 or wait for the OnePlus 15?

At Rs 63,999, the OnePlus 13 is still a very capable flagship – powerful processor, premium feel, great display, and reliable cameras. If you want a phone now and can’t wait, this isn’t a bad deal, especially since OnePlus phones rarely get big official discounts before new models launch.

However, for those who can wait a few days, waiting may be a better move. The starting price of OnePlus 15 in China is around Rs 50,000 (after conversion), and historically, OnePlus has followed similar pricing trends in global markets. If the company follows that pattern, the OnePlus 15 could launch in India for under Rs 70,000, possibly even cheaper than the launch price of the OnePlus 13.

In short, the OnePlus 13 is a safe, reliable buy right now. But with the new design, better battery, and faster chipset, the OnePlus 15 could be a better long-term option. There are only a few days left for its launch, waiting can save you money.
