OnePlus is all set to launch its next flagship device – OnePlus 13. As per tradition, the company will also launch the new device in China first. Although official dates have not been revealed yet, OnePlus China President Lewis Li has confirmed that the OnePlus 13 will be unveiled in October 2024. He also hinted that the phone will feature “latest generation flagship chips”. It could be that the OnePlus 13 will be powered by Qualcomm’s much-awaited Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which could make the device exceptional in terms of performance.
Speculations suggest that the OnePlus 13 will be costlier than its predecessor. OnePlus 12 was launched in February 2024 at a starting price of Rs 64,999 for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The price of OnePlus 13 is expected to be slightly higher than this, thanks to advanced features. For example, the new device is expected to be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, while the OnePlus 12 has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A key highlight of the OnePlus 13 will be its focus on gaming, with Lee saying it will deliver the industry’s first 120fps “Genshin Impact” gaming experience. With this ultra-fast frame rate and the updated chipset under the hood, you can expect some impressive performance from the phone. Let’s take a look at what else is expected to come in the upcoming OnePlus 13 smartphone.
OnePlus 13: Enhanced specs and features (expected)
The OnePlus 13 is rumored to come with a larger 6.8-inch display with a distinctive punch-hole design. The screen may remain flat but has curved glass all around, giving it an almost bezel-less look. It is most likely to retain the 2K resolution screen that has become a staple of OnePlus flagship devices. As for the design, the new device is expected to bring a new design, which will feature a new camera module. The new design is expected to give the OnePlus 13 a distinctive aesthetic, although no official images have been released yet.
According to rumors, OnePlus is preparing to push mobile boundaries with an unprecedented 24GB of RAM. This substantial upgrade will take performance to new heights, especially for demanding tasks. AI-powered applications, graphics-intensive gaming, and simultaneous multitasking will become remarkably fluid. The wide memory capacity ensures that users can navigate multiple apps without experiencing slowdown or freezes.
Reports suggest that the OnePlus 13 will have a 50-megapixel primary camera with Sony LYT-808 sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that will offer 3x optical zoom, promising versatility for photography enthusiasts.
Another recent report suggests that the upcoming OnePlus 13 is likely to pack a massive 6,000mAh battery. The leak also hints at impressive charging capabilities, revealing that the device will support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless fast charging. A Weibo post by OnePlus China head Lewis Li said that the recent update also leaked that there will be wood grain phone cases with magnetic wireless charging support. These features will mark a significant upgrade in battery performance and charging speeds, ensuring that users can recharge their devices quickly and enjoy longer usage all day long.
