OnePlus 13: India launch and availability (expectations)
OnePlus’ latest flagship is exclusive to China, but officials have confirmed that a global launch is just around the corner. Therefore, the new macro photography feature is a great addition ahead of its worldwide launch. Also, rumor has it that India will see the launch of OnePlus 13 in early 2025. Given last year’s launch, it’s most likely that the OnePlus 13 will be here in January.
OnePlus 13: Specs and features
The Indian variant of OnePlus 13 may have similar hardware to the Chinese variant. The only difference expected is in the software part. OnePlus 13 will work on OxygenOS 15, which is based on the latest Android 15 OS. In China, it is powered by ColorOS. At present, there is no information about the software update policy.
The new OnePlus flagship phone is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is based on the 3nm process. Therefore, it should be more efficient and provide solid performance. OnePlus is claiming that users will get a better experience with the new hardware and OxygenOS 15 software, which we will be testing when the device launches in India.
The OnePlus 13 retains the OnePlus 12’s 50-megapixel LYT-808 main camera but the telephoto and ultrawide lenses have been upgraded to 50-megapixels. It also has Hasselblad branding, a 4K/60fps Dolby Vision video, and a 32-megapixel front camera. The OnePlus 12 offered pretty good camera performance for the price and the new version is expected to perform much better.
One of the major upgrades is in the battery. OnePlus 13 comes with a much larger unit. It has a 6,000mAh battery instead of the 5,400mAh unit seen inside the OnePlus 12. OnePlus is claiming that users will get around 2 days of battery life, which we will be testing when it comes to India. It supports the same 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. One interesting thing to note here is that OnePlus is offering magnetic wireless charging this year (via the case).
The OnePlus 13 will feature a 6.82-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution. You’ll also see the same 1,600nits of brightness and 4,500nits of peak brightness in High Brightness mode.
