Putting an end to all the rumours, OnePlus has finally announced the launch date of the most awaited OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13 is confirmed to be released in China on October 31. Announcing the release, the company has also revealed the design and color options. The design of the new flagship entry is similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 12, but with a few changes. The company has also confirmed that the device will be available in three different colors: White Dawn, Obsidian Black, and Blue Moment.
OnePlus 13: Design and color options
The OnePlus 13 flaunts a sleek design with a micro-quad-curved display on the front and a prominent circular camera module on the back. Unlike previous models, the camera module no longer blends into the frame of the device. It has three lenses and an LED flash arranged symmetrically in a square pattern, all enclosed within a circular island formed by a metal ring that adds beauty and emphasizes the camera area.
A horizontal line runs from the camera module to the edge, bearing the Hasselblad “H” logo, signifying the brand collaboration. Below the camera, the minimal OnePlus logo maintains the clean design of the phone. The metal sides add to the premium feel and durability of the device.
OnePlus 13 is available in three colors. White Dawn has introduced Silk Glass technology for a smooth, sophisticated appearance. The Blue Moment Edition introduces the industry’s first smooth texture, providing a soft, skin-like touch. Meanwhile, the Obsidian Black model features a unique ebony wood grain glass finish, providing the look and feel of natural wood. Together, these thoughtful design elements highlight OnePlus’ focus on aesthetics and innovation, providing users with a premium and tactile experience.
OnePlus 13: What to expect?
The OnePlus 13 is set to offer significant upgrades over its predecessor, the OnePlus 12. One highlight is the processor, as the device is rumored to be the first to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This new chip, previously known as Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, is expected to be launched at Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit on October 22. With its advanced Orion Core, it promises superior performance and energy efficiency, ensuring a seamless experience for multitasking, gaming and more. Other auspicious works. OnePlus can also leave rivals like Xiaomi and Oppo behind in launching phones with this chipset.
Battery life and fast charging are areas where OnePlus excels, and the OnePlus 13 is likely to continue this trend. It is rumored to have a 6,000mAh battery, which is a significant jump from the previous model’s 5,400mAh battery, offering extended usage for users on the go.
On the display front, the OnePlus 13 is likely to retain the 2K resolution screen that has become a staple of OnePlus flagship devices. However, one notable new feature could be the inclusion of an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, which promises faster and more secure unlocking than optical sensors typically found in smartphones.
Additionally, the phone is expected to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, enabling fast and convenient power-ups. Whether charging via cable or wirelessly, users can expect minimal downtime, ensuring the device is always ready for use.
The OnePlus 13 is expected to sport a 50-megapixel primary camera equipped with Sony’s LYT-808 sensor and f/1.6 aperture. It will also include a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, providing enhanced versatility for photography enthusiasts.
