Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune has long been a name to reckon with for stylish dining and culinary delights. After making its mark in New Delhi and Mumbai, this renowned restaurant chain has finally come to Mohali, Punjab, and believe me – this is a place you must visit. As the 10th outlet in their collection, it promises to offer an experience like no other. As soon as you step inside, you are greeted with a spectacular view. Tall white lanterns hanging from the ceiling set the mood just right. The seating is both plush and comfortable, perfect for an intimate dinner or a lively get-together. And then, of course, there is the bar – unique and charming, which offers a chic experience for cocktail lovers. Their rooftop seating lets you enjoy the stunning city view while enjoying your meal. I recently visited this gem of Mohali and tasted some culinary delights. Here’s everything I tasted:

Cocktails:
Our evening began with a round of signature cocktails. The cocktail menu at One8 Commune is crafted to impress, and we couldn’t resist trying a few. First up was Malabari NannariA refreshing concoction made with sous vide vanilla bean-infused vodka, honey jalapeno water and green apple juice, topped with ginger beer. It was a balanced mix of sweet, spicy and tart that appealed to us. Then came the showstopper, Pop the Corn – And yes, it was served in a real popcorn bag! This fun drink, containing vanilla pods and Aperol, felt like drinking buttery popcorn, and we were stunned by both its taste and presentation. Lastly, Majestic SoreInfused with floral and fruity aromas, this was a smooth, vodka-based sip that was perfect for cleansing the palate.

Appetite-stimulating dishes:
Appetizers are an experience in themselves at One8 Commune. We started with their signature Mushroom Gugli Dim Sums. These succulent, perfectly made dim sums won our hearts at the very first bite. Their unique maroon colour was eye-catching, and the accompanying dips offered a perfect blend of flavours. Next came the dim sum Black Chickpea Hummus Chaat, The blend of Indian and Mediterranean elements is a fusion masterpiece. Naan with hummus instead of the usual pita was a game-changer! To complete the starters, we tried Amritsari Fried Fish and ChipsA golden brown dish that was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. A must try if you are a seafood lover.

Main Course:
Despite our growing fullness, we couldn’t resist it thai chili garlic noodles – A spicy, flavorful dish that is sure to win over any fan of Asian cuisine. We also sampled Nasi Goreng, This was a classic Indonesian dish that was delicious, although the texture of the chicken was a bit rubbery.
Sweet Ending:
No meal is complete without dessert, and we couldn’t stop at just one. First, we enjoyed dessert. Tiramisu Cornetto, A new twist on the classic tiramisu served in a cornetto cone. Though the sweetness was a bit on the high side, the inventive presentation more than made up for it. Our second dessert choice was Pull me up cakeThis is a dish that is a crowd pleaser and is as fun as it is delicious. Watching the sticky chocolate go down was a treat, and the rich flavor did not disappoint either.
