On not following Parineeti Chopra, Saina Nehwal said, it is not that we were friends
Saina Nehwal has clarified that her relationship with Parineeti Chopra during the film Saina was purely professional and they never became close friends. Addressing the discussion on social media, she said that following or unfollowing was never a concern as they did not spend time together except for work.
Parineeti Chopra’s performance as badminton star Saina Nehwal in the biopic Saina was widely appreciated, but recently a small detail on social media caught the attention of users. Fans noticed that while Saina follows Parineeti on Instagram, the actor does not follow her. Addressing the conversation, Saina clarified that their association was purely professional and the two never developed a personal friendship beyond the film.
in conversation with Subhojit Ghosh On her YouTube channel, Saina reacted to the buzz around Instagram followers and said, “Actually, I didn’t pay attention to it and Never paid attention to it. Because life has been so busy with my training and tournaments and events that I haven’t paid attention to this thing. Whatever we talked about, it is not that we became friends, in some sessions I was also telling him like a professional about what I have done in life, I did not say anything whether I had made friendship or anything. (I never paid attention to this fact. Whatever we talked about did not mean that we became friends. I told him how my life has been so far).”
He further explained that their conversations were limited and completely focused on work. Saina said, “It was completely a professional job for which she was there and I knew it. I was busy with my training so I also could not give that much time.” That we go for dinner or lunch. That never happened. Whenever we met for 1-2 hours, once in 2-3 weeks, the director was there. And I explained to him about my journey and all that. It wasn’t anything that we spent a lot of time with so we could be friends, it was mostly about the work she was doing but we didn’t make much of a friendship to follow or unfollow. (We never went for dinner or lunch. It never went that far. We met at weekly intervals for an hour or two, and the director was also present. It never happened that we spent a lot of time together. We did not become close friends to check in about follows or unfollows).”
As of January 29, neither Saina Nehwal nor Parineeti Chopra follow each other on Instagram.
