Olivia Rodrigo expressed her pre-tour jitters and jitters before stepping out on stage for the GUTS World Tour, which kicks off in February 2024 at Acropolis Arena in Palm Springs, California. In a recent interview, she admitted to feeling stressed and said that she was scared when she was on stage for the first time.
Of the pressure of being on stage, the singer told People magazine at the premiere of her Netflix tour documentary, “I was so scared that I was going to mess up. And at the end, I feel like I actually did.” I can do it.” , sit in it and just enjoy.” GUTS marked the second major tour of her career but that doesn’t mean she was any less nervous.
Considering her nervousness, she thought three weeks of practice would be ideal, but she quickly disregarded this and took up the performance instead. She opened up about nervousness before going on stage, as she told the outlet, “I was like, ‘I should have practiced more… like I had three days to rehearse this thing. More weeks were needed.'”
Additionally, she noted how everyone was there to support her, which was something she will always remember. However, Rodrigo recalled those terrifying moments when his hands were shaking while playing the piano on stage in front of thousands of fans. In fact, it was his first few shows that became the hardest to handle.
As time went on, Rodrigo began to settle down during her performances and although it took time, she eventually came to a stage where she could relax and begin to enjoy the performance.
Netflix will add the GUTS World Tour documentary directed by James Merriman to its catalog on October 29. This will allow fans to once again enjoy the highlights of Olivia’s headline-making tour.
Rodrigo highlighted his enthusiasm in expanding the reach of his tour to fans who were unable to physically attend. She told the outlet, “I’m so glad we got to do it all again!”
