Directed by Jithu Ashraf, the officer on duty was released in theaters on Thursday (20 February). The film opened for a super-ward-of-mouth, which ran its business at the ticket window. The film made an unprecedented of Rs 9.15 crore in the early weekend of four days. It received traction on the first Monday and recorded a big business day compared to its early day.
