Meta has allegedly acquired two more high-profile researchers of Openai, Jason V and Hyung Won Chung as part of their effort to move forward in the field of Artificial General Intelligence.
Listen to the story

In short
- Meta recruits two major AI researchers from Openai to join its Superintending Lab
- Jason Wei and Hyung specialize Chung in deep research and logic agents
- Their step indicates the strategic push of the meta to lead to artificial general intelligence
In the discovery of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), CEO Mark Zuckerberg -led tech giant Mata has allegedly hired two more OpenaiI researchers. Jason Wei and Hyung conquered Chung, both are known for their intensive research work in Openai, the new superintendent of Mata is set to join the lab. The step underlines Meta’s commitment, which is in the race towards AGI, recruiting top-talent from AGI. According to sources quoted by WireBoth researchers neutralized their internal Openai Slack Profiles, indicating the meta to their infection.
Jason Wei, a prominent person in Openai, contributed to the special and deep research models in O3, especially in and chain-off-three research in Google. Hyung won Chung, who has a history of collaboration with WeI in Google, focused on logic and Openai O1 model. Their joint experience and expertise are likely to increase the efforts of Meta in advancing the AI abilities.
The recruitment of Wei and Chung is part of a comprehensive strategy by Zuckerberg, which is to gather groups of professionals with proven working relationships. According to the report, “sources told Wired that the two had a close working relationship, which Zuckerberg scooped both of them.” This approach reminds of historical recruitment strategies where harmonious teams were given priority for their coordination and productivity. Such dynamics are likely to play an important role in accelerating the progression of the meta in the AI Domain.
The main focus of Wei in Openai included the O3 model, while Chung focused on logic agents, both important areas in the development of AGI. Their expertise in these areas of AI research provides a meta with one edge in creating an AI system with potentially more advanced, intuitive knowledge. These developments come in the form of meta, which aims to place itself prominently within the competitive scenario of AI Research with other technical giants. In particular, integration of their skills is expected to increase the research production of meta, which contributes to successes in AI technologies.
The latest hiring is part of Zuckerberg’s aggressive AI hiring sprays, where Meta CEOs are rumored to pay large -scale compensation packages – allegedly up to Rs 1,600 crore (about $ 200 million), although recently a Zuckerberg in an interview Information Said that the figures have become exaggerated. In the last few weeks, Zuckerberg has recruited top artificial intelligence researchers of rivals such as Apple, Openai, Google Deepmind and Ethropic. The recent high-profile higher includes Apple’s Rooming Pang and former Openai researcher Trapit Bansal, both now part of the newly launched Superintendent Lab (MSL) of Mata.
The lab is headed by East-Githib CEO Nut Freedman and former Scale AI CEO Alexandra Wang. So far, Meta has brought at least 11 top researchers with AI Labs, such as Google’s Lucas Bayer, Jehhua Jhai, Jack Rae and Johankwik, with Openi’s G Lin, Shengzia Jhao and Jiahui You. This list includes the latest recruitment of Chung and V.
In parallel, Meta AI is investing heavily in infrastructure. Zuckerberg recently announced a new “AI Data Super Cluster” called *Promthius *, which is expected to be operational by 2026. The company is also building a large scale, multi-gigawatt AI groups, including a hyperian, and setting up temporary data centers in tents.
