‘O’ Romeo’ saw a decline in business on Wednesday and its earnings stood at Rs. Around Rs 3 crore nett. The fall from Monday is around 30-35 per cent, which is on the bright side as it is generally expected to be around 20 per cent. The absolute number is still higher than what is typically expected from a buck. 8 crores on Sunday, but it is only because of the BOGO offer that the business remains high.
The Shahid Kapoor, Trupti Dimri starrer’s six-day gross is Rs. is slightly less than. 40 crores nett. The first week is headed towards Rs. 42 crore nett. The film hasn’t fared too well overseas either, earning around US$1.75 million (Rs 16 crore) so far, making it Rs. Have earned Rs. About Rs 64 crores.
After the trend the film showed on the first weekend, it seemed that the film would reach Rs 100 crore. 50 crore nett will be a tough task, if not completely impossible. However, with the support of the BOGO offer and some outside pressure, the film is now likely to reach there, as it has already collected around Rs. 40 crores. Not that it changes anything for the overall picture. At face value this is an expensive film, costing Rs. Much more was required. 50 crores, at least double. The sudden, surprise stoppage on Monday and Tuesday looked like it might come close to that. Wednesday’s decline has made that possibility unlikely again.
