Nothing’s next smartphone will be the Phone 2a Plus: Know what we know about it
Nothing has announced the upcoming release of its new smartphone, the Phone 2A Plus, which is set to launch on July 31. While details are scant, a teaser image hints at possible new design features.

Nothing wrapped up their big launch event with a bang and now they are back with another exciting announcement. The tech world is abuzz as Nothing has officially confirmed the arrival of their next smartphone, the Phone 2A Plus. This new device is set to launch on July 31st. However, in typical Nothing fashion, they have kept most of the details under wraps, teasing us with just the name and a snazzy image. Fans are eager to see what this new product in the Nothing lineup will bring.
No details have been kept secret, but they have teased an image that hints at a new design. The picture shows some interesting textures, which suggests we might see a new look. However, it is possible that they stick with the familiar design of the Phone 2a. Only time will tell!
There are rumors flying around as to why Nothing is releasing a Plus version. Some speculate that it’s because the Nothing Phone 3 is being delayed, and fans are eagerly waiting for an upgrade. The Phone 2a Plus could be the answer, offering better specifications for 2024.
The teaser image also hints at a new grey and black colour combo. The caption “Plus, More, Extra” suggests that the phone may have a bigger display and better features. This is what has us all wondering!
=Akis Evangelidis, Nothing’s co-founder, shared on X (formerly Twitter): “With the Phone (2a) Plus, we had the opportunity to create an improved version for discerning users who demand more processing power. We also made some improvements that didn’t require changes to the hardware design. Finally, we rounded it all off with a new kick-ass variant that reflects these upgrades.” Sounds promising, right?
The original Nothing Phone 2a was launched in India at Rs 23,999, while the Phone 2a could be priced at Rs 44,999. As for the Phone 2a Plus, we are guessing that it could be priced around Rs 30,000, but this is just a guess as of now.
To refresh your memory, the Nothing Phone 2a features a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset, a 50-megapixel dual camera setup at the back, and a stunning 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1300 nits of peak brightness. Plus, it boasts the thinnest bezels in Nothing’s lineup, measuring just 2.1mm all around. It’s powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging, though you’ll need to bring your own charging brick.
