According to recent reports, nothing is likely to be in the works on the new mid-range smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3A). Earlier speculations suggested that the device spotted on Geekbench was the Nothing Phone (3), but new information suggests that it is the Phone (3A). This latest model is expected to bring new features and a different chipset to the company’s lineup. Here’s everything we know so far.

The device, which has model number A059, also appeared in the IMEI database with another variant A059P. In Nothing’s naming scheme, the “P” is supposed to stand for “Plus”, indicating that the company is preparing to launch both a Phone (3A) and a more advanced Phone (3A) Plus variant. The move signals Nothing’s strategy to offer different models that meet the needs of different users.

According to the leak, one of the main changes in the phone (3A) is the use of Snapdragon 7S Gen 3 chipset in it. This marks a departure from its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (2A), which was powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro. The phone (3A Plus) is also expected to feature an upgraded chip compared to the Dimensity 7350 Pro found in the previous generation. Interestingly, the upcoming CMF Phone 2 from the Nothing sub-brand is also rumored to come with Snapdragon 7S Gen 3, which shows a possible shift towards Qualcomm processors across the board.

While technical specifications are still scarce, it is speculated that these devices will launch with **Android 15** onboard, continuing Nothing’s tradition of providing a streamlined software experience. The phone (2A) was introduced in March 2024, so the phone (3A) series could follow a similar timeline with a launch likely in early 2024.

As far as the widely rumored Nothing Phone (3) is concerned, there is very little information available about it at the moment. No one has confirmed that its flagship model will not be released this year, with a possible launch in 2025. Fans may have to wait until the latter half of next year to get more details on this premium device.

With the arrival of the phone (3A) and its variants, more details about the design and features of this smartphone are expected to surface online in the coming weeks. To recall, the Nothing Phone 2A was launched in March this year and the Plus model made its debut in July 2024. Nothing could either follow the same launch timeline for its successors or be introduced slightly earlier. You can stay connected with India Today Tech for all updates.
