Nothing wrapped up the CMF phone launch event with a bang and now the company is back with a new smartphone. Nothing has announced the arrival of the Phone 2a Plus and confirmed that the device will launch on July 31. Apart from the name, the brand has not revealed anything else about the device and has given very few hints about it.

Nothing has also shared an image, which suggests that the device might feature a new design as it appears to have some kind of texture. But, nothing is confirmed yet. There are chances that the brand might offer the same design that we saw on the Phone 2a smartphone. It is currently unknown why Nothing is offering a Plus variant of the device. There is a possibility that since the Nothing Phone 3 is getting delayed and a lot of people are waiting for it, the brand is planning to cater to those who want a 2024 version with better specs than the Nothing Phone 2.

However, nothing has been officially confirmed yet and this is all just a speculation. This could just be the plus version of the 2a and has nothing to do with the high-end version. The teaser image shows that the phone 2a could be made available in a new grey colour with a mix of black shades. The caption of the image reads “Plus, More, Extra.” This suggests that the display could come with a bigger display than the 2a and offer better features.

“With the Phone (2A) Plus, we had the opportunity to create an improved version for discerning users who demand more processing power, and we also made some improvements that did not require changes to the hardware design. In the end, we accomplished this with a great new version that reflects these upgrades,” company co-founder Akis Evangelidis told X.

Let us remind you that Nothing Phone 2a was launched in India at an initial price of Rs 23,999. At the same time, the price of Nothing Phone 2 can be Rs 44,999. The price of Phone 2a Plus can be around Rs 30,000, but there is no information about this yet.

To recall, the Nothing Phone 2a is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. For photography, the Phone 2a features a 50-megapixel dual camera setup at the back. The Phone 2a sports a 6.7-inch flexible AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 1300 nits. Nothing says the Phone 2a has the thinnest bezels in its smartphone line-up, measuring just 2.1mm symmetrically around the screen. Powering the smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging. However, it is worth noting that the phone does not come with a charging brick in the box.
